A great band that I’ve been listening a lot to lately is Defiance, Ohio. Their sound is more-or-less a mix of punk anthems and perky folk strings, and it comes of really well. They have a DIY “for the music” aesthetic you don’t find much anymore and it really adds to their charm. Great lyrics, too. I still smile on occasion with certain quips, even after repeated listening.
The best part? They’re very into what they call “neat, empowering technologies.” That’s good for you, because you can download their fantastic full-length, The Great Depression, right here, right now on their download page. (CC licensed of course.)
If you want to cut to the chance, here’s the torrent. I’ll be seeding all day. You have no excuse! GO!

i like. i’ll be seeding for the next day or to too. looks like they’ll be in denver in march “@marks new house” too. could be fun.
