Sadness! It looks like the infamous Cinderella Twin Drive-In here in Denver will at last finally be closing its not-so-existent “doors” to make way for some apartment buildings. If you’ve ever driven south of Denver you’ve no doubt seen its two massive screens below the interchange between Santa Fe Drive and Hampden – and during the summer have probably caught a quick glimpse of whatever has been playing on them like a flash of memory in the corner of your eye. It was a good place to see several movies in a row on the cheap – while sneaking-in and partaking of your substance of choice – all while enjoying some of the worst of bad theatre food and perhaps watch a couple games of football in the parking lot between movies. It was also the site of many of the lewdly described sexual exploits of my elementary school friend Devon, all of which I’ve now invalidated through my own gathered empirical evidence (Just so you know, Devon.)
I guess I was lucky enough to go there earlier this summer and it sounds like it might be a good idea to go one last time. Official statement below.
For years, rumors have circulated that the drive-in was being sold and that
“this is its final year”.
It seems that finally, that may be true.
While we are not 100% sure this will be our final year, we are 95% sure.
Plans are well underway to begin building an
apartment complex here this fall.
Something could still delay or cancel that project but it isn’t very likely.
We who operate the drive-in do not own it
and have no control over it being sold.
All we can do is tell you that we feel it has a very good chance of not being here after this season. So come out often and enjoy it while you can.We plan to be open weekends through September.
Beyond that, it doesn’t look good.
If the situation changes, we will update this message immediately.

Just read this elsewhere, thought you two can share your joy for that run down heap.
