My friend Brian Wilkens needed to make a video promoting The New Denver Ad Club’s The Denver 50 – some kind of advertising dick-contest competition held in Denver every year. He wanted to do a sarcastic, mumblecore-style riff on the original video announcing the contest.
He asked me to act in it, which I thought was weird but I was more than willing to do considering my love of beer, which I new I would be provided. I don’t exactly have a rich background in acting, although I have played a zombie stumbling out of a closet for a movie my friend once made. Oh, and in another movie I got killed. That was fun.
However, this one required actually speaking lines, which was stressful. I wasn’t really sure why I was there the whole time we were filming – but watching it now (in it’s excellently-edited form), I realize Brian’s idea all along. He type-casted me as a weird, stressed out, ad geek!
Who am I kidding? I am a weird, stressed out, geek – it just comes naturally. Brilliant choice Brian, if I do say so myself.
PS For those that don’t know what I look like, I’m the guy with the chops.

Now that you’re a bigshot actor, are you going to stop washing your hair and call everybody man or dude instead of by there names?
I already do that….
